Richard Allen Bolen, Sr., 75, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, formerly of Huntington, WV, husband of Margaret (Mickie) Nangle Bolen of 47 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family, Thursday August 10th, 2017 at his residence. A military service was held on Monday August 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home at Virginia Beach, VA by Rev. Michelle Louk.   He was born June 30th 1942 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Elisha and Jewel Bolen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Curtis, Vernon, Donald, George, Arthur and Baby Bolen, sister Maggie McNeeley, sister in law Marie Nangle. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother in law, and uncle. Richard was a retired boiler technician of the US Navy with 20 years of service and served in the Vietnam War. He was a retired employee of General Dynamics. Richard is survived by a son: Richard Allen Bolen Jr. of New Mexico, and a daughter Monica Bolen of Pennsylvania and three grandsons Richard Allen III, Bryce Bolen and Noah Ellinger. He is survived by a brother and sister in law: Rev. James and Lynn Bolen, sisters and brothers in law: Wanda and Phillip Dingess, Myrna and Jack Arrowood, Norma and Bill Cignoni and sisters in law: Theresa Glotfelty, Beatrice Matteo and brother in law: James Nangle. Several nieces and nephews. The cremation of Richard Bolen took place on August 18, 2017.
