Obituary



Etta M. Bowers, 68, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Etta was born on March 13, 1948 in Louisa, KY the daughter of the late John and Elsie Bowen Price. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: James "Jim" Bowers and three brothers; Randy, Dwight "Ike" and Johnny Price. She was a homemaker and attended Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church. Etta is survived by her son: Mark Bowers and daughter and son in law: Kim and Mike Morris, grandchildren: Samantha Midkiff and Tanner Morris, one great granddaughter: Lacey Neal. A brother Robert Price, three sisters; Sharon Kay Marshall, Linda Ward and Jean Day, a special niece and nephew; Angie Prince and Nicholas Adkins, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends.
Etta was a mother to everyone who came to our home and a friend to all who knew her. She was an excellent cook, loved to work in her yard and loved decorating. She received many awards for her decorating and yard work and was most proud of her award from the mayor for her yard and decorating. Mom knew no strangers and would talk to anyone. Mom was loved dearly by many. She will be loved and missed by all. “Breath free our angel”  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel with Pastor Philllip Warren. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Reger Funeral Home.
