Charles Ralph Overby
(February 15, 1930 - April 1, 2021)


Charles Ralph Overby


On April 1, 2021 Charles Ralph Overby slipped into the loving arms of God at Woodland Oaks in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born in Huntington on February 15, 1930 to Cecil and Anna Weeze Cole Overby. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Regina Fay Myrtle Overby; in laws, Dallas ad Violet Hazelett Myrtle, sisters; Mary Varney, Ila Freeman and Charlotte Overby, a brother, Delbert Overby and two brothers in law: Sam Varney and Walter Ray Woods. Charles is survived by a son Bobby (Debbie); two granddaughters: Nikki (Daniel) Fint and Sherri  (Dale) Herdman, a great grandson: Brennan Overby, a great granddaughter: Kendal Matthews; sisters in law: Nancy Woods, Katie Myrtle and Shirley Overby; brothers  in law: Mike Myrtle and Rex Freeman as well as many nieces and nephews. Charles retired from Owens-Illinois. He attended Westmoreland Baptist Church was a long time member of the Wayne Masonic Lodge, served proudly in the US Army and was a founding member and former chief of the Lavalette Volunteer Fire Department. Most important he was a loving son, husband, father, father in law, grandfather and great grandfather.He was a man of his word and someone who could always be counted on .If you wish to honor him, a simple act of kindness to someone would be a wonderful tribute. There will be no visitation . The family will have a private graveside service with Minister Alan Dills  officiating. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family .
