Karen Sue Adkins


Karen Sue Adkins, 68, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bob McGlone at 2pm on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 2pm in Woodmere Memorial Park. There will be no procession from the funeral home on Sunday. Karen was born on June 27, 1953 in Huntington, WV to Nancy C. Diehl and the late Edward H. Diehl. Karen graduated from Vinson High School. She worked for Huntington Auto Club (AAA) for 27 years as a travel advisor and she retired from Cabell Huntington Hospital after 14 years as an administrative assistant. Karen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Matilda “Nana” Pollard; one son, Philip E. Hinchman; and uncle, Robert C. Welch. She is survived by her husband Forrest Reger “Butch” Adkins; mother, Nancy C. Diehl; three daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Hinchman, Tracy Vaughan, and Kerry (Jeff) Blake; three grandchildren, Tyler Wintz, Cali Casto, and Abbi Blake; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Bret) Hanshaw Herrald; a special nephew, Drew Hinchman; an aunt, Patricia Welch; her furry friend, Scout; and she leaves behind a multitude of friends. Friends may call from noon until service time on Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington.
