Gary LaDon Elkins
(July 16, 1946 - February 23, 2011)



Gary LaDon Elkins Sr. 64, of Milton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at St. Marys Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Winford Curry and Larry Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Culloden Cemetery. Gary served in the United States Army and spent most of his time in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post 139 who will be conducting military graveside rights. Gary was a co-owner of D & E Stone. He was the former founder and owner of G & A Stone. He was born July 16, 1946 in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Lawson Clark Elkins Sr. and Frances Onedia Keenan Elkins. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Elkins. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Sue Maddox Elkins; one son Gary Elkins Jr. and his wife Patricia; one daughter, Amy Brenenstall and her husband Chris; two grandchildren that was the light of his life, Brandon Elkins and Emily Elkins; a very special nephew with whom he shared his home, Jeremiah Maddox; five sisters, Linda Elkins, Leafy Elkins, Sharon Sifrit, Shirley Wagner and Lila Bledsoe; and four brothers, Clark, Clovis, Albert and Harry Elkins. Friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011 at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton.
