Randall McKay Hogsett Jr.
(March 13, 1929 - November 6, 2011)


Randall McKay "Randy" Hogsett, Jr., 82, of Barboursville, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Cornerstone Hospital of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Allen Meadows and Joe Clay. Burial will be in Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove, WV. He was born March 13, 1929 in Hogsett, WV, a son of the late Randall McKay Hogsett, Sr., and Edna Black Hogsett. He was retired from Appalachian Power Company and Mason Supply. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Lynn Humphreys and his long time companion, Jean Ann Poffenberger. He is survived by three daughters, Rita (David) Russell of Ashland, Ky, Edna Diane (Roger) Cole of Proctorville, OH, and Susan (Jack) Hisey of Melbourne, FL; two sons, Randy (Amy) Hogsett of Barboursville, and Samuel Hogsett of Crown City, OH; the mother of his children, Myrtle Ellen Hogsett; twelve grandchildren, Casey Humphreys, Tim (Lauren) Humphreys, Tom (Michelle) Yackley, Jennifer (Mike) Rein, Tara (Mark) Scarberry, Elizabeth (Carlos) Brignoni, Amber (Ryan) Graves, Kara Hogsett, Miranda Hogsett, Ally (Stephen) Roy, Bethany Hogsett and Nicci (Dwayne) Johnson; a special nephew, John Kimberling; 15 great-grandchildren and two on the way. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, and one hour before the service on Thursday.
