FRED S. JEFFREY
(December 8, 1935 - May 25, 2016

FRED S. JEFFREY, SR., 80, of Barboursville, passed away May 25, 2016. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. David Cardwell. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. He was born December 8, 1935 in Wharton, W.Va., a son of the late Fred and Marie Wooten Jeffrey. He was a veteran of the US Army and US Marine Corps, having served during the Korean Conflict, 82nd and 101st Air Born Division as a paratrooper. Fred was a bail bondsman for 35 years, a retired employee of Huntington Alloys, and a member of the American Legions # 93, Ceredo, and a Kentucky Colonel and Admiral. He was preceded in death by two sons, Brian Keith Jeffrey and Mark Alan Jeffrey. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Phyllis J. Jeffrey; one son, Fred (Rocky) Jeffrey, III; four grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter; sisters, Marlene Gair, Sharon Cartmill and Brenda Jeffrey and brothers, David and Carl Jeffrey. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
