Obituary
William Douglas Hamilton, 61, of
Huntington died July 26, 2008 at
home after a six year battle with multiple myeloma. Doug
was a graduate of
South Charleston
High School, received his BA from
West Virginia
University and his JD from the
College of
Law,
West Virginia
University.
He was admitted to the West Virginia Bar in 1979.
He served as deputy clerk, US District Court and law clerk for Judge Staker,
US District Court, Southern District of West Virginia for 20 years, retiring
in 2003. Doug enjoyed music, philosophy, traveling,
researching his family heritage and helping family. He
was predeceased by his father, William K. Hamilton; mother, Audrey L.
Hamilton and sisters, Daphne Ann and Nancy Lynn Hamilton. He is survived by
a sister, Jennifer Hamilton of
Altamont,
NY; several aunts and many
cousins. A memorial service with a reception following
will be held on Friday, August 22 at 2 p.m. at the
Heritage
Farm
Museum
Church in
Huntington.
An hour of visitation will be held prior to the service.
