Obituary
Beloved husband and father, Alexander Wilks, 77, of
Huntington went home to be with
the Lord after a courageous fight with cancer at the Imogene Dolin Hospice
House. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM,
Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Beard Mortuary with Dr. Larry A. Greene
officiating. Burial will follow in
Enon
Cemetery, Salt Rock.
He was born 10/30/30 in Cabell Co., WV a son of the late Alexander
and Effie Wilks. He was also preceded in death by one
brother, BF Wilks; one sister, Pauline Stewart. He is
survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sue Williams Wilks; one son and
daughter-in-law, Mark and Betty Wilks; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alison
and Robin Turner and Paige and Mike Stephens; eight grandchildren, Craig and
Elizabeth Wilks, Jared, Justin, and Tyler Musgrave, Matt Turner, Megan
Milam, and Katie Stephens; two special great grandchildren, Michael Milam
and Isaiah Lapsley; two brothers, Charles and Leslie Wilks; one sister,
Ethel Nelson. He was the founder and owner of Wilks TV
Sales and Service for over fifty years. He proudly
served his country in the Korean War. God gave him many
talents, his greatest passion was working with his hands in which he built
numerous homes. He was an avid golfer at the Riviera
Golf Course. The family would like to thank Dr. Gerrit
Kimmey and all the “girls” at HIMG for the wonderful care they provided and
a special thank you to the Hospice House. Visitation
will be from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, June 9, 2008 at Beard Mortuary.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
