Obituary
EVERETT L. MUNYAN, 90 years old, of Glenwood, W.Va., died January 15, 2012 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born February 20, 1921, in New Lexington, Ohio, son of the late William and Catherine Gordon Munyan. In addition to his parents, three sisters Louise Munyan, Mina Votaw and Mary Jane Votaw and two sons-in-law Coa Jeffers and Dolas Jeffers preceded him in death. He retired from the former Nickel Plant in Huntington, W.Va., in 1979, after 37 years of service. He was a World War II veteran and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Glenwood Church of Christ since 1949. He loved to watch sports, especially the Reds and Bengals. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Hughes Munyan and three daughters, Peggy Jeffers, Sally Jeffers and Linda Munyan. Additional survivors include one sister, Patty Smith of New Lexington, Ohio; one brother-in-law Fred Smith of Logan, Ohio; special cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friends Ernie and Nancy Bowser, Vod and Kay McComas, Carolyn Cook, Karen Bowman, Geri Chapman, Darla Sturgeon and Ernie Cook. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Mr. Ernie Bowser officiating. Burial will follow at Apple Grove (W.Va.) Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. The family wishes to thank Dr. Matthew Harris and the staff of St. Mary's 4th Floor South Telemetery Unit I for their loving care and support.
