ObituaryPATRICK W. CALDWELL, 79, of Huntington, passed away and went to be with his Lord on Friday, October, 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1932, the youngest son of Henry W. and Margaret Cathryn Caldwell. He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Katherine; his brother David (Kathleen) Caldwell of Lavalette; four children, Patty, Henry, Barbara and Margaret; and grand-daughter Sarah. Patrick was employed at Steel of WV for over thirty years in the roll turning department. He was a member of USWA Local 37, a 1950 graduate of Huntington High, a nine year and forty five day member of the WV National Guard 486th Field Artillery Hq’s Battery as Senior Radio Mechanic, and was faithful to his church and parish. He became a Home-Town Hero as a volunteer working for St. Joseph High and Grade Schools. Pat will be remembered by all who knew him as a good friend and neighbor. Funeral mass will be conducted on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntington with Father Dean Borgmeyer and Monsignor Lawrence Luciana officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Friends may call for a Rosary service at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, after which visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Palatine Sisters Retirement Fund in Mr. Caldwell’s honor.
