KATHLEEN GRACE NELSON, 83, of Huntington passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born on May 21, 1929 in Quinwood, WV, a daughter of the late Raleigh and Ida Perkins Rhodes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Nelson, and a sister, Lillian Richardson. She is survived by her daughters, Neshia (Joe) McDonald of Tampa, FL and Deborrah Doss of Huntington; brother, Homer Rhodes of Huntington; grandchildren, Stephen, Bradley, Tonya, Tammy, Cathy, Brad and Angela; and great-grandchildren, Kelyn, Connor, Brandon, Eryn, Ryan, Maddy, Alex, Catelyn, Jacob and Brayden. Mrs. Nelson was a retired administrative assistant with the Detective Bureau of the Huntington Police Department with over 20 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Brad Poe officiating. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Wednesday.
