Obituary

Pastor William Holley
(September 25, 1932 - October 31, 2014)

Pastor Bill Holley 82 of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord he loved and served all his Christian life, on Friday October 31, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Gospel Church with Pastor Keith Weibe, Sr., Pastor Keith Weibe, Jr. and Pastor Jerry Matt officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. He was born, Luther William Holley, Jr. to the late Luther W. Holley, Sr. and Flora Elizabeth “Libby” Gallaher Holley Haucke. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Mary Holley, step-father, Lawrence Haucke, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Gladys Crum, a beloved aunt and uncle, Sylvia and A.G. Preston and a dearly loved mentor and friend, Pastor Melvin Efaw. Pastor Bill was the Minister of Visitation at Grace Gospel Church for over forty-seven years and was still witnessing for the Lord the day he died. Because of his passionate love for the souls of all people, he spent every day of his entire life telling every person he met that God loved them, Jesus died for their sins, and if they would in repentance turn to Him, they would receive God’s gift of Eternal Life. He was just as passionate to see New Believers grow in their love and understanding of God, so he started a New Believer’s Class and continued to teach it for over 40 years until he got sick, but was still looking forward to getting well and teaching it again. He had a list of people to invite to that class when he could teach. He desired all believers to learn how to live an abundant and successful Christian Life, living in Obedience to God’s Word and Commands. He is now rejoicing (loudly) in Heaven with his Beloved Savior, friends, and loved ones who have gone before. Bill was also proud of being an Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joy Bell Crum Holley; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rexford and her husband, Dr. Todd Rexford of Muskegon, MI; a son, Stephen Paul Holley of Huntington; grandchildren, Josh, Sarah and David Rexford; a half-brother, Harry James “Jimmy” Holley and wife, Carol of Rushville OH and a host of loving church family and friends.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Beard Mortuary and Sunday 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the church.
