Obituary
EDWARD K. STONE,
62, of Huntington, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, May
19, 2015. "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians
1:20. Edward was born November 2O, 1952. He grew up on Cyrus Creek Rd. in
Barboursville. He was a member of Cyrus Creek Baptist Church but has
faithfully attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington, WV
for the past 25 years. Edward was retired from CSX Machine Shop in
Huntington. He was also a member of the CSX golf league. Ed loved attending
Macedonia and singing in the choir. Edward also enjoyed golf, traveling,
Marshall University sports, and the Reds. Edward served in the Navy Reserves
for 20 years. Ed was a kind and easy-going man loved by all that knew him,
and he will be dearly missed. Edward leaves to cherish his memory his wife,
Kelly Aills Stone, three sons, John (Heather) Stone of Colorado Springs CO,
Derek (Lisa) Stone of Columbus OH, and Marcus Stone of Huntington, WV and a
daughter, Kelsy Stone of Towson, MD; four grandchildren: Max and Maddie
Stone, and Brooke and Luke Stone, and a special mother-in-law, Nancy Aills.
He is also survived by three sisters, Sharon Stone of Barboursville WV,
Beverly Dean of Huntington, WV, and Bette (Charlie Flowers) Thomas of Ona,
WV and several nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his
father, Acie Stone, mother, Emalene Stone and a special nephew, Mark Dean,
and father-in-law, Ralph Aills. What a wonderful reunion they are having in
heaven. Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2015 at Beard Mortuary in
Huntington WV from 6-8. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23,
2015 at Beard Mortuary at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Forest Memorial in
Milton, WV. Services will be officiated by Dana Turley, youth pastor at
Macedonia and longtime friend, and Terri Thompson, pastor at Macedonia. "For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of your-selves: it is the
gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9.
