Terry Lee Shy
(November 27, 1943 - November 29, 2022)

Terry Lee Shy, 79 of Huntington, WV passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at his home.  He was born November 27, 1943 at Huntington, WV, a son of the late Jack and Hilda Whittle Shy.  Terry was a graduate of the University of Indiana and retired as a teacher and track coach, having taught and coached in Tennessee, Florida, Ohio and West Virginia. He attended Steele Memorial United Methodist Church in Barboursville, WV. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Shy.  Survivors include one son, Jonathan Shy and wife Shannon of Howell, MI; three grandchildren, Ben, Alex and Evelyn Shy all of Howell, MI; one sister, Mary Kay Shy of Charlotte North Carolina; two special cousins Linda Kelly of Huntington and Mary Ida Speck of St. Petersburg, FL; a special nephew, Todd Shy of New York, NY; and a host of additional family, friends and students too numerous to mention.  No services will be held at this time.  Beard Mortuary is honored to serve the Shy family.
