Margaret C. Smith
(December 16, 1921 - February 17, 2018)

MARGARET C. "PEGGY" SMITH, 96, of Barboursville, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at The Village at Riverview, Barboursville. She was born on December 16, 1921, in Quakertown, Pa. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Abbott M. Smith; brother, Mike Cyliax; and a sister, Martha Childs. She was a member of Steel United Methodist Church and a former member of the Guyan Golf & Country Club. Peggy and her husband were avid skiers and loved traveling around the world; they also enjoyed supporting Marshall University. She is survived by her brother, Bob Childs of Horsham, Pa.; stepson, Abbott M. (Susan) Smith Jr.; stepdaughter, Wendy (Harry) Atterbury; and many nieces and nephews. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Kevin Lantz officiating. Entombment will follow. Beard Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
