ObituarySteven L. Ferguson STEVEN L. FERGUSON, SR. "BIG RED" 58, ENTERED PEACEFULLY INTO HEAVENS GATE FEBRUARY 20, 2008. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, WATTY FERGUSON, JR AND NOVELLA JONES AND FOSTER PARENTS ROBERT AND WILLA HOLMAN. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS LOVING WIFE BEATRICE (BEA) FORD FERGUSON, SEVEN CHILDREN, MIACHELLE, TANISHA, STEPHEN (GINA), ROBERT (TASHA), KEVIN (TISHA), NATHAN (TRISH), NANCY (CHRISTIAN). SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN, MYIA, MALIK, JOB, MYLES, NADIA, ARYAH, MIKALAH. TWO UNCLES, WILLIAM L. FERGUSON AND WAVERLY PRYOR. ONE BROTHER, JAMES FERGUSON (COLLEEN). FOUR SISTERS, WANDA WAITERS, KATHLEEN HOLMAN-SNOW (CORNELL), LARNA HAYDEN, BRENDA AMAEFULE. SEVERAL NEICES, NEPHEWS AND COUSINS. OSCAR WAITERS, JR. A SPECIAL NEPHEW AND BROTHER-IN-LAW RICHARD FORD. HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS GODPARENTS, ROBERT AND LUCILLE MORRIS. HE WAS AN EMPLOYEE OF STEEL OF WEST VIRGINIA FOR 37 YEARS. HE NEVER MET A STRANGER AND HAD MANY FRIENDS. HE WAS A MEMBER OF YOUNGS CHAPEL, AME CHURCH THAT HE LOVED AND SERVED ON NUMEROUS BOARDS. HE WILL TRULY BE MISSED BY SO MANY. The celebration of Steven's life will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday at The Sixteenth Street Baptist Church,1647 Ninth Avenue with the Reverend Angela Walker, officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8PM Monday at Young Chapel AME Church.
