Jack Ray Phillips
87 of Huntington, WV went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January
17, 2009 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. He was born September 19, 1921 in
Columbus, Ohio. Son of the late Carl Sr. and Grace Phillips. He was
preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Louise Phillips who always
stayed dear to his heart. Also preceded in death by his sister Blanch
Gibson, brother Carl Phillips, Jr. and a daughter Jacquelyn Raye Burton.
He retired from Huntington Inco Alloy Plant with 35 years of service and
was a member of the United Steel workers of America local 40 for 30 years.
He was a US Army Veteran, and served as a life guard and instructor at the A.D. Lewis Boys Club. He was also previously employed by George H. Wright. He leaves to cherish his memory; His loving wife of 7 years Dee Greene Phillips; three daughters Bonnie (Randy) Hughes of St. Albans, Maureen (Earnest) Watson of California and Sheila (Lester) Robinson of Cleveland, Ohio. Also surviving are his grandchildren whom he cherished, Tomeka, Tasha,Tammy, Kim, Tracey, Rashad and Jerrod all of whom he adored. Great-Grandchildren other relatives and friends. Services will be 1:00PM Saturday, January 24, at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul F. Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00AM until the time of the service at the church.
