The Merritt Cemetery was moved to the present site in 2001 to make room
for the regional jail that is currently under construction in 2002. The
original coordinates were N38 25.03, W82 17.30. This list is incomplete as
the stones are in bad shape and it was not possible to read all in one trip.
List will be completed at a future date.
The following list was compiled by actual reading of the tombstones. All
the information, excluding annotation, is written on the tombstone.
Annotations are included following the entry for the majority of the stones.
Abbreviations are used for the following: d/o - dau of; s/o - son of; c/o -
child of; w/o - wife of; and h/o - husband of.
