Old St. Joseph's Catholic
St. JOSEPH'S CEMETERY
Cabell County, West Virginia
Old St. Joseph Detail List
Latitude: N 38º. 245
Longitude: W 082º 31. 093
Elevation: 602 feet
Accuracy: 17 feet
Located in the East End of Huntington, WV. in the Guyandotte Section.
Take Route US 60 into Huntington. Turn Right onto Bridge Street (Rt.
2) and go to the first Red Light. Turn Right onto Main St. and go past
where the Flood Wall starts. Now turn Left onto the first street that
that goes through the Flood Wall. Take this street and go over the
railroad track. After the railroad track turn Left onto the first
street you come too. Go up the hill and the cemetery will be on your
Right.
The cemetery is not fenced but has very little upkeep by the Huntington
Park Board. Over the years the cemetery has had a lot of vandalism
with markers being broken and knocked down. Part of the cemetery is
back in the woods and is overgrown with weeds and brush.
There are a lot of unmarked graves and markers that can't be read.
It is also said that several graves were moved to other cemetery because of
the condition of the cemetery.
