Eubank Chappell
(October 5, 1924 - February 1, 2012)
Virginia Eubank Chappell, 87, of
Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Emogene
Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at
2:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, with
Dr. Allen Reasons officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Spring
Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Virginia was born October 5, 1924 in Louisville,
KY a daughter of the late George Duncan and Ershal Stewart Eubank. Her
husband, Charles Ellis Chappell, Sr.; a sister, Lois Watkinson; and a
grandson, Charles E. Chappell III, preceded her in death. When she was
younger, she worked for the C & O Railroad as a keypunch operator and later
was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Fifth
Avenue Baptist Church for over 20 years and was a member of Guyandotte
Chapter #89 OES and Cabell Wayne Association of the Blind. Survivors
include: a daughter, Virginia L. Chappell of Huntington; three sons and
daughters-in-law, Charles E. Chappell, Jr. and Beverly Chappell of Kennesaw,
GA, George A. and Leah Chappell of Ravenswood, WV, and Mark E. and Kathryn
Chappell of Huntington; nine grandchildren, Christopher Chappell and his
wife Kristin, Allen Chappell, and Jennifer Chappell, all of Atlanta, GA,
George Chappell, Jr. and David Chappell of Huntington, Rebecca Chappell
Wallace and her husband, Cody and James Chappell and his wife, Audrea, all
of Huntington, and Anthony Boggs and Mychal Boggs, both of Ravenswood, WV;
two great granddaughters, Sarah Chappell and Allison Chappell, both of
Atlanta, GA; a sister, Georgia Mae Evans of Delmar, MD; and many nieces and
nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin
Jones Hospice House, Huntington. 3100 Staunton Road, Huntington, WV 25702.
Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2012 at Chapman’s
Mortuary.
