Jane S. Clayton, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on October 16, 2012 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 28, 1926 in Coalwood, WV to the late Howard Dean and Mamie Wire Sedinger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee R. Clayton, her brother James Dean Sedinger, a dear niece Holly Tomlinson, and a great grandson, Noah Morrison. Jane graduated from Huntington East High School and Marshall College, graduating with a degree in Social Studies. She was a very loving mother serving as a Girl Scout Brownie Leader, and a dedicated volunteer for both Little League Four and Southeastern Babe Ruth. Jane was a member of Enslow Park Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. As a realtor for AAA Realty she made many special friends as she sold real estate for many years and was a member of the Million Dollar Club. Survivors include her sister Martha Reese of Reston, VA, daughters Mary Elizabeth Clayton and Catherine (Alan) Morrison, and a son James L. Clayton (Anne) all of Huntington, WV. Her special grandchildren who survive her are Elizabeth Clayton of Louisville, KY, Wesley Clayton of Huntington, WV, Jeff Morrison (April) of Lexington, KY, and Brooke (Travis) Smith of Houston, TX. Surviving great-grandchildren are Bode Smith of Houston, TX, and Liam Morrison of Lexington, KY. Her family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Jim and Liz Bates who gave such wonderful, selfless care to their mother throughout her illness. The family also wishes to thank all those with Hospice of Huntington for their kindness and care. The family is planning a Spring Memorial Service. For those wishing to do so, contributions in Jane’s memory may be made to Hospice of Huntington or Help For Animals.
