Obituary



Diane Lynn Lakies, 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Good Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born March 16, 1951 in Flint, MI., a daughter of the late Calvin Jennings and Ethelyn Mae Hale Stevens. The father of her children, Len Allen Lakies also preceded her in death. She was a registered nurse having worked at St. Mary's Hospital. Diane was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, and also attended Fenton First Baptist Church in Fenton, MI. She was a loving, joyous, and vibrant woman. Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Deanne and Gary Ransbottom of Glenwood, Lesha and Terry Chapman of Huntington, and Kristen and Andrew Greene of Winfield, WV; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Lisa Lakies of ChristChurch, New Zealand; six grandchildren, Evalena Hart, Sydney Ransbottom, Jacob and Molly Chapman, Zoe and Gracelynn Greene; three brothers, Richard Stevens and his wife, Cathy (Goralka) of Manteno, IL, Michael Stevens of Linden, MI, and Rodney Stevens of Fenton, MI; and several nieces, nephews, and special cousins. There will be private family services. Donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society in her name.
