Obituary


Virgil Jeffery VanScyoc, 58, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. He was born December 12, 1958 in New Martinsville, Wetzel County, WV, a son of Shirley Jennings VanScyoc of Moundsville, WV and the late Virgil Ray VanScyoc. A brother, Armand Ray VanScyoc, also preceded him in death. He was a former employee of WV Paving; B and J contractor; and Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. In addition to his mother, survivors include: his wife, Little Star VanScyoc; a daughter and a son-in-law, Misty (Joshua) Marks of Huntington; two sons, Jeffrey Todd VanScyoc and Ricky Eugene Davis of Huntington; six grandchildren, Sarah Davis, Joshua Davis, Emily Davis, Jayden Jarrell, Autumn Marks, and Joshua Marks Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon VanScyoc Barahona and Salmon Hector Barahona of Martinsburg, WV; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael Vale and Tammy VanScyoc of Virginia; nephews, Virgil Alexander Barahona and Salmon Barahona Jr., and his mother-in-law, Patricia Nicholas of Huntington. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family. Memorial services will be private.
