Stephen Richard Thacker

Stephen Richard Thacker, 64, of Proctorville, OH, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at his home. He was born June 3, 1958 in Colorado Springs, CO a son of the late Donald Richard Thacker and Juanita Marie Bailey Thacker. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Helena Renee Thacker; former wife and longtime companion, Rose Thacker; and four brothers, William Edward Thacker, David Anthony Thacker, Bryan Patrick Thacker, and Dennis Dwayne Saxton. He was formerly an orderly at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Survivors include: a daughter, Charlotte Shantel Thacker; two sons-in-law, Jeff Newman and James Smith, Sr.; nine grandchildren, Chaz Newman, Candace Newman, Patrick Newman, Michael Stanley, Matthew Stanley, James Smith, Justin Smith, Jayna Cremeans, and Tristan England; six great grandchildren, Kenzie Haynes, Carter Haynes, Jayleigh Newman, Addison Newman, Aaliyah Newman, and Amiyah Smith; two sisters, Tracy Saxton and Shelia Dawn Thacker; and several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jesse McComas. Funeral services will be conducted 5:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2023, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Phil Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 5:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
