Obituary

 Walter Allen Myers Jr. of South Point, Ohio was born November 22, 1934 in Huntington, the son of the late Walter A. Sr. and Ida Bolden Myers, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 10:15 am with Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Huntington with Father Livinus Uba officiating. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He retired from INCO Alloys. He was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, a member of the Moose Family Fraternity in Barboursville, a Kentucky Colonel and served as a medic in the US Air Force. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha L. Myers and the mother of his children, Yvonne Myers. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Newatha Abbott Myers; three sons, Walter A. Myers III of Columbus, OH, Daryl L. Myers of Buelaville, NC, and Charles A. Myers of Columbus, OH; two daughters, Patrice Myers and Marie Myers, both of Columbus, OH; three step-sons, Charles W. Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Keith A. Johnson of Columbus, OH and Kevin E. Johnson of Huntington Beach, CA; a granddaughter, Maria Myers and two great-grandchildren. A host of loving family, friends, nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until time of the Rosary Service at the church. The care and services of Mr. Myers are under the direction of Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington.
