Obituary
Frank Lewis Nowlin Mr. Frank Nowlin, 86, of Huntington, WV, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, OH. He was born July 6, 1922, in Lynchburg, VA, the son of the late Nathaniel Nowlin and Beulah Nowlin Rogers. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Jefferson Nowlin and a brother, Robert Nowlin. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy and retired from the VA Medical Center after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church where he sang in the choir and was the former president of the OWLS. He is survived by three daughters, LaVonda Singer of Huntington, Donnetta (Russell) Little and Frankie Nowlin of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Robin Sheffield, of Raleigh, NC, Maurice (Diana) Nowlin of Las Vegas, NV, Andy (Denise) Nowlin, Gail and Kristal Little, and Melani Moorehead, all of Columbus, and Richard (Lindsey) Singer of Proctorville, Ohio; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until Rosary Service at 10:45 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2009 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church with Father Livinus Uba officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
