Obituary
Avenell Akers
Avenell Akers, 92 of Huntington, WV passed away May 28, 2011 at Hospice House of Huntington. She was born November 7, 1918 a daughter of the late Joseph and Nancy Wyont. She had been a loving homemaker and was know as “granny” to many people. Avenell also was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Woodard (Brady) of Huntington Nancy Henson (Dwight) of Jacksonville, FL, two grandchildren; Marian C. Gue (Michael) of Salt Rock, William R. Long III (Michele) of Culloden, and four great-grandchildren; Will, Jasper, Cameron, and Ian. A Memorial Service will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
