Deborah Jean Smoot

Of Huntington, WV, entered her heavenly home on May 7, 2020 at the age of Sixty-Six years, Six months & Twenty days. She was born Sunday, October 18, 1953 in Pittsburgh, PA and was the daughter of the late Elvin Claude and Evelyn Elizabeth (Craft) Smoot.

   Deborah was a graduate of Fairfield High School, c/o 1970 and faithful member of the Baptist Temple, Huntington, WV where she treasured her membership and enjoyed the lasting connections she made there. Deborah found great happiness in singing with the community choir.

   Those left to cherish Deborah’s memory include her companion of over 20 years and the love of her life: Kenneth Wooding, her special cousin who also cared for her since 1989: Gloria Spiller, one niece: Tara (Kevin) Alin and their children: Tayanna & Kaiya, two nephews: Christopher Lee, Terrence (Amanda) Lee and their two children: Tamarcus & Jamison, five additional cousins: Mary Jones Williamson, Deborah Shelton, Yolanda Guthrie, LaRohn Guthrie, Leslie Robinson II and her dear friend for over two decades: Marguerite Martin.

   Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 P.M, Friday, May 15, 2020 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, WV with Pastor Andy Magnusson of Baptist Temple, Huntington, WV officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, WV. Pallbearers will include: Terrence Lee, Christopher Lee, Phillip Thompson, Michael Williams, Charles Branch and David Batts.
