William Maurice Palmer
(May 23, 1961 - April 28, 2021)



William Maurice Palmer

   Born on May 23, 1961 to Rosetta Palmer in Huntington, WV., was called home on Wednesday, April, 28, 2021.  Maurice graduated from Huntington High School in 1978 and attended Marshall University.  Maurice was employed by Marriott Hotels and Sodexo Food Services until he retired.  Maurice had a love of cooking, especially for family and friends. He was a member of the 16th Street Baptist Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.  He served on the Usher Board and the Men’s Ministry.

   He is preceded in death by his natural mother, Rosetta Palmer and a brother, Vincent Cheeks.  He leaves to mourn his death, his mother in life, Georgia Cheeks, Huntington WV., five sisters, Tina Palmer, South Point, Oh., Clara Tillet, Bernice Cheeks, Virginia Cheeks all of Huntington, WV. and Janice Cheeks of Charleston, WV., one brother, Albert Tillet of Huntington, WV.  He also leaves to mourn a special Aunt, Sadie Page of South Point, Oh. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Maurice had many best friends, however there was one special friend, Tina Dickerson, that he talked with daily.

   Maurice will be truly missed by all who loved him, a number that would be hard to count.  He was a very sociable person who loved to entertain people.  If he told you he loved you, he meant it.  Maurice will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

   A Memorial Service will be conducted 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 16th St. Missionary Baptist Church, Huntington, WV. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, WV is honored to assist the Palmers family.
