Mr. Calvin Jermaine Audu


Calvin “Chookie” Jermaine Audu,
42 Years & 21 Days, went to be with The Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021. Jermaine was born October 15, 1979 in Huntington, WV to parents, Rodney Brown and Annette Hawkins. When he was young, Andrea Ibezim stepped into his precious life and took the honors of adopting him. He is preceded in death by his daughters, Mashelle Audu and Nashaya Audu; adopted mother, Andrea Ibezim; brother, Micah Crawford; and father, Rodney Brown. As a child, Andrea took him to church and helped with all birthday parties. Growing up he had a very rocky road, but while he was in school, he played soccer and was a very active child who grew into an adult and eventually rapping, singing and making music became his passions; so much that he went to school for music and eventually created his own production studios, “Akil Promotion” and “Maeshaya Entertainment”. Jermaine was very active in the Huntington community. He coached for the DC Express Football Team and always kept his team on track and focused. Jermaine loved to help build, alongside with family; they built and opened up in Huntington, WV Rehmys Bar and Lounge. He was known for sharing stories and making jokes. He eventually moved and worked at a processing factory. Jermaine was known for helping others and creating unique ideas. He was very creative and an outspoken person with a contagious laugh and smile; one that would brighten up your day in the matter of seconds. Jermaine met great people throughout his life, he was loved by all. He leaves behind his children; Stephanie Frazier, Akil Audu, Aamir Audu; and 1 stepchild, Destiny Thompson; mother, Annette Hawkins; siblings, Andre Branch, Sr. and Carolyn Branch. Also, surviving, closest aunt, Tokey Branch; grandmother, Marguerite Martin; mother of his children, Jan Frazier, Jericha Knox, and Lisa Thompson; dearest friends, Sheldon Hill & Family, Todd Meadows and his son, Cam; and a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews , great-aunts and great-uncles. At this time, A Celebration of Life is pending.
