Lester M. “Doug” Gibson, 72, of St. Albans, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 18, 1943 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late George C. and Clara M. Davis Gibson. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Doug was a loving father, son and brother who was always willing to help anyone. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Debra Thomas; two daughters, Tammy Sowards of Vincent, OH and Tabatha Cummings of Huntington; one brother, Glen (Betty) Gibson of Hurricane; two sisters, Faye (Don) Cobb and Maxine Bowen both of Huntington; four grandchildren, Tessa Wood of Hurricane, Christopher Sowards and Corey (Andrea) Runyon both of Huntington and Torie Ross of Barboursville; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. A graveside service will follow visitation at Ball Cemetery, Milton.
