Michael Richard Saunders, 59, of Glenwood passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at his home. He was born July 20, 1956 in Huntington, a son of Opal Mount Saunders and the late Chester Richard Saunders. In addition to his father, Michael was also preceded in death by a brother, Alan D. Saunders. Michael was a graduate of Milton High School and the owner and operator of Saunders Sawmill, having worked there with his father all of his life before taking over the business in 1993. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Robin Miller Saunders; one daughter, Amber Saunders Paugh and her husband, Ty of Salt Rock; one son, Richard K. Saunders of Glenwood; one sister, Sheila M. Mayes of Glenwood; one brother, James Saunders and his wife, Patti also of Glenwood; father-in-law, Robert S. Miller of Glenwood; mother-in-law, Sonya C. Miller of Huntington; very special brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Mayes-Saunders Cemetery, Bryan Creek Road, Glenwood with Pastor Steve Hinkle officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1st at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
