Obituary

LUCY VIRGINIA ALFORD, 85, of Fraziers Bottom passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004, at her daughter's residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Truman Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lunsford Cemetery, Milton. Lucy was born April 13, 1919, in Putnam County, a daughter of the late Lavender and Sarah Ann Meadows Ward. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Alford; seven brothers and six sisters. Lucy attended 5 & 20 United Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita "Pam" and Delmer Chapman and Wilma and Wesley Chapman; one brother, Jerome Ward; two sisters, Delpha Rhodes and Fay Edwards; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
