Vernon Lee Dalton, 77, of Henderson, WV peacefully went home to be with his Lord early Sunday morning, February 20, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Max Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow in Balls Chapel Cemetery. He was born July 28, 1933 in Lincoln County, WV a son of the late John and Nessel (Curry) Dalton. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Owen, Alfred, and Thomas Dalton; sisters, Eileen and Ellen Dalton along with grandchild, Russell Dale Dalton whom all three passed away in infancy. Vernon was a proud, retired member of Boilermaker Union, Local #667 after 33 years of service. He was also a member of the American Legion, Point Pleasant. He is survived by daughters, Vaneesa (Jessie) Harper of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Patty (Jerry) Edmonds of Apple Grove, WV; sons, J. Douglas (Tammy) Dalton of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Brad (Amber) Dalton of Mt. Hope, WV, Dale (Diane) Dalton of Ashton, WV, and Michael Dalton of Point Pleasant, WV; beloved grandchildren, Corey Dalton, David Rodgers, Brooklyn Dalton, Evan Dalton, Jessica Dalton, Nikki Dalton Powell, Jennifer Wood, Madison Harper, Jessa Harper, Christopher Edmonds, Derric Dalton, and Justin Dalton; great grandchildren, Brayden and Jason Dalton; sisters, Frankie (Emerson) Mayes, Ruby (Parren) Lewis, Viola (Harold) Mayes, and Stella (Forrest) Alford; special friend, EB Carper; a host of loving family members and friends. Marriages throughout his lifetime were shared with Jean Sturgeon, Alma Taylor, Glenna Cox, and Beatrice Ankrom Dalton.
