James “Frank” Landis, 83, of Milton passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Winford Curry officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born January 8, 1930 in Jackson County, WV, a son of the late Samuel and Mary Susan Landis. He was also preceded in death by two granddaughters, Stacey Marie Smith and Cari Rochelle Smith. Frank was a member of Susannah Baptist Church, Fudges Creek and retired from Mountaineer Gas Company after 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Clara Jean Landis; two daughters, Diana Jean Shull and Cathy L. Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, James P. and Phyllis Landis and Roy G. and Carlesie Landis; six grandchildren, Jamie Hatfield, Anthony Hatfield, Kim Black, Cindy Landis, Jeff Landis and Josh Landis; 12 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
