Theon Farris Ashworth
(April 1, 1949 ~ January 30, 2018)
Theon Farris Ashworth, 68, of
Glenwood, WV, went home to be with his Lord on January 30, 2018 at Cabell
Huntington Hospital. He was born on April 1, 1949 in Milton, WV, son of
Margaret and the late Willie Woodrow Ashworth. He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Connie Jenkins Ashworth. He was also preceded in death by
his mother-in-law Maxine Greathouse. He is survived by his second wife,
Dreama Greathouse Ashworth of 27 years and their two daughters, Hannah and
Heather Ashworth; one aunt and uncle, Elizabeth “Libby” and Ward Camp, Jr of
Ashton, WV; his father-in-law, Dallas Greathouse of Lesage, WV; two brother
and sisters-in-law, Randy and Barbie Greathouse of Proctorville, OH and
Scottie and Cindy Sparks of Barboursville, WV; and several cousins. He was a
member of Barker Ridge United Baptist Church. He was a member of the Milton
High School Class of 1967. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education
from West Virginia State College in 1971 and his Master of Science from
Marshall University in 1975. He served in the Army National Guard, being
honorably discharged in 1977. He was stationed in Fort Dix, NJ and Point
Pleasant, WV. He retired in 2005 from the Kanawha County Board of Education,
where he taught at Ben Franklin Career Center. He also worked in Cabell
County. Visitation will be held at Heck Funeral Home in Milton, WV on
Thursday, February 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted by
Pastor Jimmy Dailey on Friday, February 2 at 11 a.m. at Heck Funeral Home
with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the
Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist cemetery.
