NELLIE S. CRANS
(March 7, 1924 - May 25, 2012)

Nellie S. Crans, 88 of Huntington, WV, beloved mother and grandmother, achieved eternal life after a long illness on Friday, May 25, 2012 at her home.  A nurses daughter and lifelong resident of Cabell County, WV was born March 7, 1924 in Charleston, WV and later resided in the Huntington, WV community. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Blanche  Jennings Stewart; ex-husband, Joseph S. Crans; son-in-law, Kenneth D. Adkins; daughter, Patricia A. Meadows. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Michael McGrory. Mrs. Crans was the former co- owner of the Whiz Discount Stores, Crans Supply and was also employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Company as a bookkeeper. She was a Charter Member of Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, volunteered with the Ronald McDonald House and the Red Cross.  Her hobbies were knitting and arts and crafts. Cremation was observed with no additional services scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington City Mission or Hospice of Huntington.
