Obituary
ELGIE SULLIVAN
Elgie Sullivan, Jr., 87 of Huntington, WV passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at home. He was born January 22, 1926 in Huntington, WV the son of the late Elgie and Ruth Shepherd Sullivan. He was also preceded in death by two wives, Alberta Ruth and Lois Shepherd Sullivan; one son, Richard Elgie Sullivan and three brothers and four sisters and a step-son, Ellis Shepherd. He was a retired Rating Board Specialist with the Veterans Administration for 42 years a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and a member of Ceredo Christian Baptist Church where he was assistant pastor for over 50 years. He is survived by two sons, Gary Sullivan of Sunbury, OH and Mark Sullivan of Marysville, OH; two daughters, Rheta Trenchard of Slidell, LA and Linda Smith of Huntington, WV ; three sisters, Delsie Watson of Scottown, OH, Elsie Nance and Joy Del Bailey both of Huntington, WV; two step-children, Diwhana (Susie) Nicholson and Tena Kimball both of Huntington, WV; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, May, 17, 2013 at Henson & Kitchen Family Funeral Home, Barboursville, WV with Rev. Cleo Watson and Rev. Chris Day officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington, with Military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 139 Milton, WV. Family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
