Gary Phillip "Phil" Maynard, 42 of Lavalette, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 2 in Wayne, WV.  Phil was born July 3, 1974 in Massillon, Ohio and resided in Wayne County most of his life. Phil was disabled, which gave him time to spend with his beautiful wife and children. He was the active President of the Wayne Community Center, a position he dearly loved! He loved the community of Wayne, the people in it and most of all the children! He was the past President of Wayne Buddy Basketball, a program that he believed in.  Phil is survived by his wife Sarah Maynard of Lavalette, his children, Alyssa Ray (Dakota Parsons), Jamaylan Ray and Zane Maynard all of Lavalette, WV. He is also survived by his parents Garland and Dorcas Maynard of Wayne; mother-in-law, Erma Ray; grandmother, Imogene Browning of Wayne, WV; one brother Les (Cheryl) Maynard, Wayne; Kelly Maynard, nephew (special friendship); several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Kelly Browning, Jimmy and Garnet Maynard, Gene Maynard and two uncles, Ronnie Adkins and Howard Maynard.  Phil's viewing will be conducted on Friday, May 5 from 6-9 PM at the Wayne Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 6 at noon with Pastor Toney Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens in Wayne, W.Va. Those serving as pallbearers are, Randy Pratt, Bobby Lewis, Greg Lewis, Billy Russell, Jamie Javins and Aaron Adkins. Henson and Kitchen Mortuary, Huntington, W.Va. is caring for the family.
