Sandra Kay Strong Wilson Roden, 66 of Ashland, KY, passed away, Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Kings Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY. She was born August 18, 1954 in Virgie, KY. the daughter of the late, Hatler and Bessie Marie Tackett Strong. She was homemaker, attended New Life Church in Huntington, WV, loved God and her family. Kay also loved gospel music and was in a Gospel group years ago called Herb Saylers and Perlie Lights and was an avid sports fan attending many local and UK basketball and football games. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Wilson; sister, Julia Holbrook and two brothers, Glenn Everett Strong and Terry Strong. She is survived by her husband, Ted Roden of Ashland, KY; her daughters, Tina (David) Clark and Kayla Wilson all of Ashland, KY and Julie Powell of Warren, OH and Lori Hanners of Ashland, KY; one brother, Tommy (Tammy) Strong of Louisa, KY; grandchildren, Maleesa Clark and Keeston Clark, Michael and Alyson Powell, Joshua Hanners, Sara Carter and Skyler Hanners; two nieces, Alana and Amy and two nephews, Tommy, Jr. and Austin. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 4:00 PM at New Life Church 1101 Cedar Crest Drive Huntington, WV. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the church.
