Howard L. Haeberle

Howard
L. Haeberle,
94, of Huntington, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 in Huntington Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 by the Rev. Dr.
John Minihan at Klingel Carpenter Mortuary. Interment will follow in Spring
Hill Cemetery. Howard was born May 26, 1919
in Charleston, WV, a son of the late Carl Frederick and Sarah Leona Pugh
Haeberle. In addition to his parents, he is
preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Grace Jean Ingles
Haeberle in 2004; and by two brothers, Carl
B. and Ronald M. Haeberle. He is survived
by one son, Steven Howard
Haeberle, Ph.D., of Birmingham, AL.
Mr. Haeberle
retired from the former Armstrong Products Corp. in 1970. The next few years
he was involved in Real Estate. He was a 1937 graduate of Huntington High
School and also attended Marshall University. During WW II
Mr. Haeberle,
unable to serve in the military due to medical reasons, was employed by
General Chemical Company, first in Point Pleasant, WV manufacturing T.N.T.,
then in Baltimore, MD manufacturing chemicals for use in the South Pacific.
He then took courses in industrial accounting in Baltimore, industrial
engineering in Richmond, VA and then courses in marketing at Marshall
University. He was a life long member of the First Presbyterian Church of
Huntington and enjoyed his church. He sang in the choir for 60 years, he
also served as president of the Men-of-the-Church for a time, was ordained
as a Deacon, then became an Elder. The family will receive friends one hour
prior to the service at the funeral home.
