Mary Elizabeth McGinnis
(November 23, 1919 - November 15, 2016)

MARY ELIZABETH (BETTY) MCGINNIS, 96, of Huntington, died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Woodlands Retirement Community. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2016 at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. Mark Conner. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. She was the daughter of the late Ira James and Mabel Chapman McGinnis. Betty was a graduate of Marshall University. Associated with the Civil Aeronautics Administration in Hawaii during World War II and later the American Red Cross in Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, Korea. She retired as Corporate Secretary of Service Warehouse Corporation in Huntington. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter I and the Woman's Club of Huntington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Eloise McGinnis and two brothers; Ira James McGinnis, Jr. and Lyle Beuhring McGinnis, M.D. She is survived by three nieces; Imogene F. Murray, Celeste M. Fraley and Carolyn C. McGinnis; one nephew, Lyle B. McGinnis, Jr., and seven great nieces and nephews, Hershel B. Murray II, Marian L. Folk, Kathleen F. Murray, James P. Fraley, Ami L. Mandt, Michael M. Fraley and Lyle B. McGinnis III.
