Virginia (Pfischner) Ford
(October 7, 1921 - September 22, 2016)
VIRGINIA P.
FORD, 94, of Huntington, W.Va., died September 22, 2016. A
native of Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Senator and Mrs.
Edward E. Pfischner. She attended Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio, and
graduate of Marshall University, Huntington, WV, in 1942. She resided in
Huntington from 1946 with her husband Robert Davis (deceased) where she was
an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild
for many years. She married Charles W. Ford in 1973 and moved to West
Chester, PA. She moved to Hilton Head in 1985. She was a member of St.
Luke's Episcopal Church serving on the Altar Guild, Port Royal Plantation
Club, the Hilton Head Hospital Auxiliary and the Woman's Club of Hilton
Head. In 2001, she and husband Charles returned to Huntington and resided at
the Woodlands. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Ivy Club,
Marshall University Alumni and Woman's Club of Huntington. Survivors include
her two sons, Robert H. Davis and his wife Rebecca of Raleigh, N.C., Stephen
E. Davis and his wife Andrea of Huntington, WV, a stepson, Charles William
Ford of Marietta, Georgia, and grandchildren, Hunter wife Kim and Benjamin
wife Allison Davis, Shelly (deceased), Jennifer Davis, Ashlee Manns,
step-grandchildren, Tracy Baker husband Judd, Charles Thompson and Virginia
and Charlie Ford, great-grandchildren, Carver, Ruby, Benjamin Davis, Gus
Vogtli, Destiny, Brittany and Amber Sasser, grand-niece, Denise Zeller, two
special young friends, Quinlan Booten and Abby Zickefoose, and many
wonderful friends and relatives. The family wishes to express their sincere
gratitude to the Woodlands for the loving care given to our mother. A
funeral service will be held at
Trinity Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. October 1 with
the Rev. Jim Morgan officiating. At the church friends may call one hour
prior to the service. Burial will be at
Spring Hill Cemetery in
Huntington, WV, immediately following the service. Expressions of sympathy
may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
