Colbert Cecil Jr.
(February 1, 1922 - October 6, 2014)



Colbert Cecil Jr., 92, of Chesapeake, O.H., passed away Monday October 6th, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years Opal Chapman Cecil. Colbert was born February 1st, 1922 in Ashland, KY. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He was a retired chief clerk for C&O Railroad. He was a member of the American Legion Post 93 Kenova, as well as DAV Chapter 2 of Huntington. He was also a member of the Marine Corp League and was a Marine Corp Devil Dog. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday October 9th, 2014 at 11:30 am at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Cecil Family Cemetery, Catlettsburg, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents Colbert Cecil III and Marie Louise King Cecil. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Robert (Donna) Cecil of Proctorville, OH; daughter Anna Marie (Nathan) Newman of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren Sarah Beth Cecil, David Robert Cecil, Jennifer Ann Cecil, Adam Scot Cecil, Jamie Marie Newman, and William Clark Newman; Great grandchildren Lucy Dew Hatcher, Daniel, Jacob, Rachel, and Leah Cecil, Ryan and Jack Corrigan, and Karley Marie Newman. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time on Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. American Legion Post 93 Kenova will conduct military graveside rites.
