Obituary
Peggy Joe Chafin,
82, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the Huntington
Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30
pm Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Roger Mooney.
Burial will follow at Dock’s Creek Cemetery, Kenova, W. Va. She was born
September 30, 1932 in Kerrs Creek, Virginia a daughter of the late Hubert
Earl and Lena Martin Wash. She was a former employee of Adell Fastener. She
attended Kellogg Independent Holiness Church of God. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Chafin and two
sisters Nancy Wash Alford and Betsy Wash. Survivors include two sons and
daughters-in-law Jimmy and Sandra Chafin of Athens, Alabama and Paul William
and Mary Chafin of Ceredo, W. Va., a daughter and son-in-law Peggy Ann and
Scott Wise of Huntington, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a
brother and sister-in-law Hubert “Pete” and Priscilla Wash of Chesapeake,
Va. , and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1601 2nd
Avenue, Charleston, W.Va. 25387.
