(1938 - November 7, 2017)

Carl Thomas "Tom" Brose of Milton, formerly of Ironton, Ohio, left his earthly home, November 7, 2017. His battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) was over, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and the mother of his children Helen Jackie Brose. He leaves behind his wife, Judy, with whom he had 44 wonderful years. He also leaves his blended family of eight children to mourn his loss: J.B. Caldwell, Carla (Al) Salyers, Carolyn Eastham, Amy (Bil) Neal, with whom he made his home, Connie Brose, Christine (Mario) Drake, Tomi (Craig) Adkins, and Joe (Hollie) Brose; his grandchildren, Kevin, Amanda (Mike), Kacy (Dustin), Josh, Michele (Brian), Jaclyn, Anne-Marie (John), Anthony, Daniel, Myriah (Wade), Katie, Owen, Gretchen, Christian and Piper; his great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Maggie; and his fur baby, Buddy. Tom retired from S&S Beauty Supply, where he won many awards. Tom was also an avid golfer and was president of The Ohio State Left-Handers Association and was a lifelong member of the Ironton Country Club. He was also a proud member of the Ohio Association of Gideons International. Tom had his body donated to The Marshall Med School, in hopes of helping to find a cure for MDS. The family would to thank his family doctor, Angie Lewis and her husband, Ron. They were much more than his doctor, they were family. The family would also like to thank all of the staff of Bellefonte Infusion Lab, Cancer Center of Bellefonte with whom spent so much time with, the American Red Cross and all of the selfless donors who graciously donated blood, and Hospice of Huntington for making his final days peaceful. Tom also requested that his service is not to be a funeral but a celebration of life and requested that all who attend to please wear red, white and blue.  A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Sharon Baptist Church, Ironton with Steve Harvey and Cliff Hartley officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
