Homer Lee Adkins Sr.
(November 27, 1925 - September 28, 2018)



Homer Lee Adkins, 92, of Culloden, WV, went to be with his wife on September 28, 2018 at the Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston, WV. He was born November 27, 1925, in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Ezra and Esther Alley Adkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean McSweeney Adkins; brother, Toney Adkins; and sister, Regania Sue Adkins. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Barbara and Darell Watts, Homer Lee Adkins Jr. and Terri Adkins, and Mark and Lesa Adkins; four grandchildren, Steven D. Watts, Matthew Watts, Edee Lynn Adkins, and Kevin Adkins; one great grandson, Chase Watts; two brothers, Amos Adkins and Charles B. Adkins; and one sister, Phyllis J White. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by Pastor Tom Wiley. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery. He was a senior deacon at Culloden United Baptist Church. Homer was a fine son, a loving brother, husband, dad and a good friend to many people. He worked hard as a milkman, union leader and small business owner. He was proud to have served in the Navy in World War II. Through it all, his love of God was the driving force that saw him through everything. Throughout his journeys he touched many people’s lives and his stories and memories of those times stayed with him until the end.
