ObituaryJohn A. Butcher John A. Butcher, 75 of Barboursville, WV was greeted in Heaven on April 26, 2022 by his precious son and namesake, John A. Butcher II. John passed away at home with his loving family by his side. He was born to his parents, William and Carmen Butcher on Oct. 18, 1946. He was a proud US Army SGT E5 Vietnam Veteran. John retired from Special Metals after 34 years to lovingly help his wife in her day care business. He loved children and they loved him. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his loving son John Adren II, daughter Tami, and grandson Jeffrey, brothers, Billy, Roy, Harry, Jerry, and Louis and sisters Dora and Ethel. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Rosetta Hill Butcher, his mother in law, Rose Hill, his children, Lisa (Jerry) Childress, Joshua Butcher, Dawn (David) Hickey, Joey (Selena) James, seven grandchildren, Eric, Mike, Amanda, Angelina, McKenzie, Jodie and Jayden; four great-grandchildren; one special grandson whom he raised, Logan Hodge; sisters Ruth Mays and Rosemary (Howard) Algeo; along with countless family and friends. A celebration of John’s life will be held at Wallace Funeral Home in Milton, WV on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Heron Adkins officiating. Visitation will be from Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service; interment will follow at Forest Memorial Park, Milton, WV.
