Kenneth Eugene Smith
(November 29, 1942 - May 4, 2022)



Kenneth Eugene Smith, 79, of Barboursville, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022. He was born November 29, 1942 in Cabell County, WV, a son of the late Kenneth and Hazel Lewis Smith. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and US Army. He was retired draftsman with Army Corp of Engineers and was a former police officer with the City of Barboursville. Kenny was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #177, Barboursville, and was a Past Department State Commander of the American Legion in West Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlena May Becker Smith, one son, Phillip Smith, one granddaughter, Justina Smith, one sister, Gladys Hinkle, and two brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Jefferson Smith and Robert Franklin "Smitty" Smith. He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Smith and Nancy Pollard (Johnny), both of Barboursville; one sister, Kathy Hendrick of Pt. Pleasant, WV; two brothers, Jimmy Smith of Hurricane, WV, and Rickie Smith of Barboursville; one grandson, Dakota Smith; two granddaughters, Alexandria Smith Lafferre and Erin Mayo; one great-grandson, Luca Fafferre; and three great-granddaughters, Raelynn, Oaklynn and Ensley Mayo. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Minister Danny Evans officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
